Trucker Sushi is a movement to challenge traditional aesthetics and attitudes in art by separating the explicit from the implicit. These works attempt to place the implied message of the artwork front and center while disrupting the underlying the aesthetic forms used to convey it.
The main artist, Shai, is based out of Hollywood, CA and cut his teeth as a graffiti artist and writer in the NYC area. His goals are to capture the experience of the poor and fringe members of society in a langauge they can relate to.
Additionally, trucker sushi is also a road snack prepared by long haul truckers. Recipe coming soon.
